Description

Product Description

Agarose

Application Notes

Agarose is useful in separation of nucleic acids electrophoretically because agarose gels have larger pore sizes than cross linked acrylamide gels at low concentrations and in chromatographic separations by either beading the agarose or cross-linking it. Agarose gels are also used in immunoelectrophoresis (IEP) and double-diffusion Ouchterlony plates to demonstrate antibody-antigen reactions.Agarose was used to prepare 0.5% agarose gel for Southern blot analysis of the DNA extracted from primate muscles.

Usage Statement

Research Use Only (RUO). Unless otherwise stated in our catalog or other company documentation accompanying the product(s), our products are intended for research use only and are not to be used for any other purpose, which includes but is not limited to, unauthorized commercial uses, in vitro diagnostic uses, ex vivo or in vivo therapeutic uses or any type of consumption or application to humans or animals.

Key Applications

Electrophoresis;Nucleic Acid Separation;Chromatography;Restriction Mapping; PCR.
