Product is the lyophilized powder of human secretory IgA and buffer salts.

Application Notes

Purified IgA secretory may be used as a reference antigen, standard, blocking agent or coating protein in a variety of immunoassays including ELISA, dot immunobinding, immunoblotting, immunodiffusion and immunoelectrophoresis. Other applications include starting materials for the preparation of immunogens and solidphase immunoadsorbents. IgA from human colostrum was used as a standard in ELISA (1 mg/mL) and gel electrophoresis.

Preparation Method Human secretory IgA is purified from pooled human colostrum using multi-step procedures which may include salt fractionation, gel filtration, ion-exchange chromatography and immunoabsorption. The product is dialyzed into 0.01M sodium phosphate, 0.07M sodium chloride, pH 7.3, filtered through a 0.22 µm filter, vialed and lyophilized.
Solubility Hazy, colorless solution at 10 mg/mL in 0.85% NaCl.
